Bhojpur Mahila Kala Kendra was established on 1st June 1993 as a SME to provide objective Skill Training to poor & needy women. In 2000, a Senior IAS Officer Sri Amitabh Verma encouraged and supported us to get registered as a society to avail Govt. supports. Our organization BMKK is Reg. on 13.04.2000 under the society registration act and under the FCRA, I.T. 12A & 80G. The organization is run by a seven-member executive body comprising all women members. BMKK is empanelled with TISS & D.C. Handicrafts, Govt. of India and have Membership in many reputed organizations like AIH, Gender Alliance, BVHA and Executive Member in AATMA Bhojpur etc.
BMKK is awarded by CAPART, Women & Child Development Govt. of Bihar, APRAJITA Award from Leading Hindi News Paper Prabhat Khabar etc. in the field of Women Empowerment.
In Feb- Mar. 2019 BMKK got Brand of India Award by Ministry of MSME for SME, This Award is presented by Hon. MSME Minister Sri Giriraj Singh and got Women on a Mission award by your story team Bangalore, this award is Presented by Mrs. Sudha Murthy founder of Infosys foundation and Padamshiri.
Got JIJABAI award from Shivaje Collage (Delhi University), New delhi in January 2020 for Women empowerment.
We are Executive body member of Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) under department of Agriculture Govt. of Bihar in Bhojpur district.
We are committee Member of Sexual Harassment issue in Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) under Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of INDIA.
BMKK also worked/working with many Govt. agencies, Foreign Agencies and also with Corporate agencies.
BMKK formed and nurture more than 300 women SHGs in Bihar state and around 200 SHGs have got credit linkage with banks for SME. Lead Bank Manager Bhojpur (BIHAR) provided us appreciation letters for our efforts.
At present we have skilled around 50000 women out of 10000 women are Employed/Self Employed and formed and nurtured 300 Shgs in Bhojpur district. A part of this, since 2014 we have identified 2546 women in Bihar & Jharkhand States which has opened USHA Silai Schools & earning money for their families. All technical & certification support has been provided by USHA International with Quarterly monitoring and other support by BMKK. We are manufacturing Eco Friendly “Crochet Thread jewellery” that engaged 200 women’s families in Bhojpur district of Bihar. Women are working from home with good earning per day. Around 300-400 variations depend on skill and time. At present, we have 3500 registered women’s Artisan’s who are associated with BMKK and more than 200 SME having EM II Reg. with registration from Development Commissioner Handicrafts, Ministry of Textile and MSME Govt. of India.
BMKK working on Health Issue Like Immunization, Access better Health services, Safe Abortion etc. with different donor agencies.
BMKK also working on Save environment through campaign with Ministry of Forest & Environment
